Thule Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2008 Lexus ES 350- Video

Today on this 2008 Lexus ES350, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Raceway Pro Two Bike Rack, Part #TH9001PRO. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack, you're going to have 3 points of contact with your bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here, then one off at the side here, which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth, hitting either the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Now, also, there's an integrated cable lock up at the top here, which will wrap around the bike in the front, and lock into place in this area here, which will add some security to your bike rack. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. Once you remove the straps, it's a good habit to go ahead and put them back into place, just so you don't lose them while driving. With that done, we're going to go ahead and give you a quick measurement. With the rack in this position, we've added about 21 inches to the rear of the vehicle. more

Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with our bike's frame. We're going to have two straps up at the top here, plus one off to the side here which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from actually hitting the rack itself or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take it off and set it aside. Once you take the straps off, it's always a good idea to put them back into place because you don't want to lose them while driving. more

As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack; there's going to be 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. There's going to be 2 straps up at the top here and one off to the side here, which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from going too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take it off and set it aside. It's always a good idea to put the straps back into place, just so they don't loosen while driving . With that done, I'm going to go ahead and give you a measurement here. With the bike rack in this position, we've added about 25 inches, and that's measuring from the bumper. more
